Pie & AI: Goiânia - Papers Club
Description
Most of the AI we use today was born in academic papers that almost nobody outside research ever reads. The Pie & AI Papers Club exists to close that gap in Goiânia.
In this first edition, a presenter walks the group through a foundational AI paper, translating notation and jargon into an explanation anyone with an interest in technology can follow. We then open the floor for a moderated discussion: what the paper proposes, why it mattered, and what it means for the work we do today.
The format is designed for a mixed audience. Newcomers leave understanding how the field actually evolves; practitioners and researchers get something rare in our city — a space to discuss research with peers. The reading material is shared in advance, but no prior preparation is required to attend. We close each session by choosing the next paper together, and, of course, there will be pie.
