Workshop: AI in Design (Aug Series)
🚀 4-Week Workshop: AI in Design
AI in Design is a 4-week hands-on workshop series for designers who want to use AI in their work with more confidence, better judgment, and less hype.
This workshop is built for people who want practical workflows, not just tool demos. Across four weeks, we’ll explore how AI works at a useful level, how to prompt more effectively, how to use AI in design tools like Figma, and how to build a personal workflow that supports real design practice.
This is a small cohort on purpose: collaborative, hands-on, and closer to a studio session than a webinar.
📅 Schedule
Dates: Every Wednesday, August 5, 12, 19, and 26, 2026
Time: 4:00–6:00 PM
Location: Denver Central Library, Room #242
Format: Hybrid
Remote participation: Google Meet + shared FigJam exercises
Note: This ticket is for the full 4-week series, not individual drop-in sessions.
💡 Weekly Structure
Week 1 — AI Foundations & Prompting
Learn a practical mental model for how AI works, including next-word prediction, agents as models with tools and policy, and a simple framework for writing better prompts. We’ll also look at how better context leads to better outputs in design tasks, including a Figma Agents example.
Week 2 — Synthetic Research & Framing
Use AI to frame design problems, generate research angles, create interview guides, and explore where synthetic inputs are useful versus misleading.
Week 3 — Design Exploration & Iteration
Use AI for ideation, critique, concept development, UX writing, and design variations. We’ll focus on how to improve outputs through better prompting and iteration.
Week 4 — Integrated Workflows
Bring everything together into a practical workflow. We’ll map how AI can support different parts of the design process and help you build a system you can keep using after the workshop.
🎯 What You’ll Leave With
A clearer understanding of how AI works in practice
Better prompting habits for design, research, and critique
More confidence using AI in tools like Figma, ChatGPT, and Claude
A stronger ability to evaluate AI outputs critically
At least one workflow you can apply immediately in your own projects
👥 Who This Is For
Designers, freelancers, and design-adjacent professionals who want hands-on experience integrating AI into their practice.
This workshop is best for beginner to intermediate participants who want a practical, thoughtful, and community-oriented way into AI in design.
🧰 What to Bring
A laptop
Access to Google Meet
Access to Figma/FigJam
Curiosity, questions, and a willingness to experiment
Each week includes simple practice and optional take-home work so you can apply what you learn to real design problems.
💵 Cost
Workshop Series: $50 for the full 4-week cohort

About Me
I’ve been running AI workshops since last year, and this is my fourth one. I recently gave a workshop at UXPA on AI systems thinking, and I’ve also built a range of AI tools myself. This workshop is grounded in both teaching and practice.
