David Crane leads AltaML’s Incubate Department, serving as a strategic partner to help organizations identify where AI can reduce costs, increase revenue, or gain a market edge. Specializing in the transition from initial concept to commercial launch, he deploys high-impact machine learning solutions across diverse industries. During his 4 years at AltaML, he developed AI products with over 30 companies, from startups to multi-billion dollar enterprises. His approach ensures emerging technologies are both technically sound and market-ready.
David brings a deep technical and analytical background, holding a Master’s in Neuroscience from McGill University and an engineering degree from the University of Waterloo. An expert in medical technology and product development, he has contributed to 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications and built both hardware and software products.
Paul Longo, Executive Business Partner at AltaML
Paul Longo is an Executive Business Partner at AltaML with over three years of experience leading applied AI initiatives in the public sector. He drives measurable impact by partnering with executive teams to identify and deliver high-value AI solutions. Leveraging his 15 years of cross-sector leadership across healthcare, industrial, and government, he specialises in aligning business objectives with AI strategy, shaping technology governance frameworks, and guiding multidisciplinary teams through complex cloud and ML initiatives.
Paul holds a Master of Management of AI from Queen's University, a Master’s in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto, and a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. This advanced academic foundation in artificial intelligence, business, and engineering drives clarity, alignment, and long-term value throughout an organization’s AI adoption journey. Outside of AltaML, Paul leads the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) working group focused on AI Education for Engineers.
