About Event

🎯 For UX designers, product designers & PMs | 🧠 Intermediate | 🛠️ Hands-on workshop | 🕒 2 hours | 👥 40 seats | 💵 $150 Standard / $100 Uxcel Pro

Copy edits, spacing fixes, small UX improvements — these shouldn't have to wait weeks in an engineering queue. Designers and PMs often have the clearest eye for what needs to change, but not the path to ship it themselves. That gap is closing fast.

You won’t just watch AI write code. You’ll use it to navigate a real product, make a focused improvement, test it locally, and push your work to GitHub. You’ll work inside an existing product rather than starting from a blank page — learning how to understand the codebase, find where your change belongs, build it with AI, test the result, and share it through GitHub.
Florian will use Codex during the workshop, but you’ll learn a workflow you can take back to Claude Code, Cursor, or whichever AI coding agent your team uses.

Led by Florian Boelter, Staff Product Designer at Juro and Founder of Open Doors, this workshop is grounded in real product work, not hypothetical AI demos. Florian is known for high-signal frameworks and a deeply practical approach — helping designers navigate ambiguity, make sharper product decisions, and engage responsibly with emerging technology. His work sits at the intersection of UX, product thinking, and AI-driven systems, grounded in real-world constraints and hands-on experimentation.

By the end, you’ll know how to go from “I know what needs fixing” to a tested product change ready to share with your team.

🧠 What You'll Learn

• Clone an existing project from GitHub and get it running locally in minutes.
• Use an AI coding agent to navigate an unfamiliar codebase and identify exactly where a change should live.
• Scope a focused product improvement and give your AI agent the right context to act on it effectively.
• Build, test, and refine a real product change through guided, hands-on implementation.
• Complete the full GitHub workflow — pulling, committing, pushing, and preparing your change to share with a team.

🚀 What You'll Walk Away With

By the end of the workshop, you'll have:

• A real product change you've built and tested yourself
• A GitHub commit you can share with a team
• A repeatable AI-assisted workflow for navigating unfamiliar codebases
• A clearer understanding of which product changes you can tackle yourself and when to involve engineering

🕘 Agenda

1. Welcome and workshop map (10 mins): What we'll build, how small product contributions can work within a team, and where AI coding agents fit in the process.
2. Clone and run the starter product (15 mins): Pull the project from GitHub, open it locally, and get the app running in your environment.
3. Explore an unfamiliar product (15 mins): Tour the product and codebase. Use Codex to understand how it's structured and where a change should live.
4. Scope the product change (10 mins): Review the feature brief, decide on an approach, and give the coding agent useful, well-framed context.
5. Build the change with AI (35 mins): Work through the main implementation together, with room to adapt, explore, and troubleshoot as you go.
6. Test, refine, and fix issues (15 mins): Check the result locally, make improvements, and work through common mistakes and edge cases.
7. Commit, push, and share your work (15 mins): Save the change in Git, push it to GitHub, and prepare it to hand off or share with a team.
8. Wrap-up and next steps (5 mins): Recap the full workflow and discuss where participants can apply it in their own product work.

⚙️ Format

This is a hands-on, follow-along workshop. You can build the product change alongside Florian during the session, or observe the workflow and apply it to your own product afterward.

👤 Who Should Attend

Experience level: Intermediate
No prior coding experience is required. You should be comfortable working with digital product tools and willing to experiment with an AI coding agent.
Perfect for designers and PMs who have ever thought: “I know exactly what needs to change - I just can’t ship it myself.”
