​A conversation on reimagining the energy transition through the lenses of gender, care, justice, equality and post-growth futures.

​The global imperative to move away from fossil fuels has never been more urgent. As countries accelerate the transition towards renewable energy, electrification and other low-carbon solutions, we are increasingly imagining a world beyond fossil fuels. But an important question remains: are we changing only the sources of energy, or are we changing the systems that created the crisis in the first place?

​A transition to renewables does not automatically make the future just. Without deeper transformation, the same extractive, colonial and patriarchal systems that have shaped our economies can continue through new technologies, new resources and new forms of inequality.

​A Feminist Just Transition asks us to look beyond technological substitution and rethink how we organise economies, value labour, distribute resources and make decisions. It asks us to place care, equality, health, ecological wellbeing and collective prosperity at the centre of the transition.

​This conversation brings together speakers to explore gender inclusion, post-growth futures, care, health and justice to discuss: what do we need to leave behind, and what kind of world do we want to build beyond extraction?
