When you first set up your infrastructure on AWS, everything looks affordable. As the product grows and traffic increases, cloud costs follow faster than expected. Soon, looking at your AWS bill starts giving you headaches.
In this talk, we'll show how we approach AWS cost optimization at STRV, which AWS services and strategies can help keep costs under control and where AWS pricing can quietly work against you if you're not paying attention.
Filip Cerny & Filip Ohanka – AI Changed Our Industry. Here's How We Changed.
AI changed how we scope, review and hand off work far more than it changed how fast we write code.
We'll walk through a real delivery that would have taken far more effort the "old" way. You'll see what we let AI own, and where humans stayed in charge: reading and validating what ships, owning the architecture and deciding what "correct" even means.
The gain came from spending our attention where it actually matters, without skipping review. We'll be honest about the trade-offs: where quality did slip, and what we'd do differently.
Otavio Valentim – Building Backends for Offline-First Apps with PowersSync
An offline-first app is only as good as the backend that keeps its data in sync. This talk presents the backend architecture behind an offline-first application using PowerSync.
We'll walk through selective data synchronization, client-side SQLite, authenticated write processing and database replication, then demonstrate the complete flow with a small Next.js and Postgres application.
