Launch of the Civic Sense Movement: From Schools to Civic Action
A city-wide civic action movement engaging Delhi government school students through awareness marches and community-led activities to build everyday civic responsibility, environmental consciousness and collective action.
The Civic Sense Movement is a youth-led civic engagement initiative being launched across participating government schools in Delhi, building on the Climate Ambassadors Initiative and Green Champs Initiative conducted as pre-events with students and school communities.
The movement will bring students together through civic awareness marches within and around participating schools, creating a visible platform for young people to engage with issues of cleanliness, responsible public behaviour, environmental stewardship and community responsibility. Rather than limiting civic awareness to classroom discussions, the initiative aims to translate learning into visible, collective action and encourage students to become active participants in improving their neighbourhoods.
The launch will connect students, educators, youth organisations and civil society partners around a shared understanding that civic responsibility is built through everyday actions and sustained community participation. Following the launch, the movement will be strengthened through continued engagement and activities led by collaborating organisations, including Ears of the Earth, Climate Caretakers Collective and Environment Club.
Through school-based engagement, marches, awareness activities and partner-led follow-up initiatives, the Civic Sense Movement seeks to create a sustained culture of civic responsibility, environmental consciousness and youth participation across Delhi.
