What is this workshop?
This is a smaller interactive intro workshop is for people who are new to Codex or curious about what it can do.
No coding background is required.
You do not need a project prepared, or even a clear idea of how you might use it yet.
What is Codex?
The word codex comes from Latin, referring to an early form of the book: a place where knowledge could be gathered, organized, and carried forward.
Today, Codex is an AI teammate that helps turn plain-English instructions into real work.
It can help organize information, clean up messy files, draft content, research a topic, prepare for a meeting, build a small tool, or turn an idea into a first working version.
What happens in the workshop
This session will be led by Daniel Green, Codex Community Ambassador and Chapter Lead for AI Collective Kansas City.
You will see Codex in action, learn what it is useful for, and try it yourself if you want. We will walk through simple examples, answer questions, and help people get started.
There is no pressure to produce anything during the session. You are welcome to participate hands-on, ask questions, or simply watch and learn.
The Codex for Humans Challenge
After the workshop, participants can keep exploring through the Codex for Humans: Humans in AI Week Challenge, running June 1-7 during Humans in AI Week 2026.
Submit a short demo video, workflow, or use case by the end of the week for a chance to win Codex credits from OpenAI. Use the hashtag #CodexForHumans to enter.
Submission is optional. The challenge is an invitation to keep going, experiment, and share what you discover.
