About Event

Learn how the Coldcard hack happened, how onchain tracing enables white hat hackers to see what's going on, and what the Bitcoin Red Team is doing to protect everyone else. A reminder to protect yourself against the latest physical and digital threats using multi-signature and multi-vendor crypto wallets. A crash course in self-custody for 2026.

The CVA Cybersecurity Working Group continues its monthly series with a session dissecting a real-world hardware wallet exploit — what went wrong, what it exposed about single-vendor custody setups, and the practical steps individuals and institutions can take to avoid repeating it. Expect a grounded, technical walkthrough rather than theory: multisig design choices, vendor diversification, and the operational habits that separate resilient self-custody from a false sense of security.

Speakers

  • Daniel Babbev, Senior Custody Engineer at Bitcoin Suisse

  • Dmytro Yasmanovych, Head of GRC & Security Operations at Hacken
