The Dinner Table X Discussing... Niceness & Leadership
A dinner to understand When Niceness Becomes Negligence: Conflict Avoidance as a Form of Power
An intimate dinner centered on open conversation about conflict avoidance, leadership, and personal agency. A space to explore calmly and thoughtfully how “niceness,” diplomacy, and the desire to maintain harmony can sometimes evolve into indecision, blurred accountability, and hidden power dynamics.
Throughout the dinner, we will examine how avoiding difficult conversations shapes outcomes inside organizations, particularly in founder-led companies, scale-ups, and senior leadership environments, and how the same patterns appear in individual professional contexts, affecting boundaries, decision-making, and perceived authority.
This is a conversation-only gathering, designed for curious minds who want to reflect, ask questions, and exchange perspectives in a respectful and intellectually engaging setting.

Your Expert Host: Manel Bernal
Manel Bernal has spent over 20 years leading people as an HR exec — but labels don’t really fit him. He’s a marathon runner turned running coach, a sea fisherman, a car trader, an amateur tennis lover, and the founder of a plant-based restaurant he built from scratch — and somehow made thrive.
He’s been to 25 concerts in 8 countries in a single year and can probably fix your Brompton… or your mood. After a breakup, he quit alcohol completely, wrote a book (yes, it’s on Amazon), and decided to make life bigger, lighter, and full of new people. That’s why he’s here — for real conversations, good vibes, and nights that turn into stories.
The Venue: Salsa
We’re meeting at Salsa Street Food on c/ Muntaner, 124, one of Barcelona’s most exciting Mexican spots. Led by chef Santiago Giralt, trained at Alkimia and Alkostat, Salsa reimagines Mexican cuisine with a refined, elevated touch, bold flavors, top-quality ingredients, and deep respect for the product.
We’ll gather in their private room, the perfect setting for an evening of good food, meaningful conversation, and that vibrant energy that makes Barcelona nights unforgettable.
