About Event

Global Vision Impact Awards side event for 2030 IN SIGHT LIVE attendees

We invite all eye health professionals and governments to learn about a unique funding opportunity to catalyze government expansion of refractive error services.

The Global Vision Impact Awards offer direct, immediate funding for governments at every stage of this journey, from legislative design through to implementation, backed by public and private philanthropic capital.

Governments are invited to register their interest and apply for funding to build the policy, legislation, and institutional capacity needed to expand refractive error services and improve access to eye health care nationwide. Award recipients receive tailored support for policy and capacity building and become eligible for implementation funding to bring affordable presbyopia care, including eyeglasses, to scale within their national health systems. This is a direct funding pathway for governments ready to act.

This side event, hosted by the Livelihood Impact Fund and Vital Strategies at IAPB’s 2030 IN SIGHT LIVE, will walk attendees through how the funding opportunity works, what governments are eligible for, and how to apply. The session will feature a moderated panel bringing together government, policy, and implementation partners who are already engaged in this work.

The policy framework underpinning the awards has been co-developed by Vital Strategies, IAPB, the World Health Organization, and Livelihood Impact Fund.

The award and policy to be developed with countries are in line with the WHO norms, standards, recommendations, and policy guidelines.

Award winners will be announced at the 2026 Global Summit for Eye Health this November.
