Fuckup Nights Toronto: Vol LXIV
WTF is Fuckup Nights?
Failure is a part of any success story, but we don't talk about it enough. We've all been to plenty of events where people tell you how they hacked, hustled, and created their success, but very few where someone gets up and says "I totally messed up, and this is what you can learn from it."
Fuckup Nights Toronto is part of a global speaker series where stories of failed businesses and projects are shared. Each speaker is given 10 minutes and is able to use 10 images. After each speaker, there’s a Q&A session, as well as time for mingling and drinks!
Agenda:
6:30 - 7:15 pm: Registration, meeting fellow community members
7:15 - 8:45pm: Fuckup presentations + Q&A
8:45 - 11:00pm: DJ and more mingling with fellow community members!
Speakers:
Simba Wakatama is the founder of Flo100, where he finds your ideal clients and brings them into curated events so you can close deals faster. Previously, he built and led the Partnerships & Experiences division at OneEleven, creating the systems and relationships that scaled the organization’s ecosystem.
He has designed and powered executive experiences, GTM ecosystems, and strategic partnerships for leading global brands including Apple, Google Cloud, Cisco, Intuit, CIBC, Mintz, Miller Thomson, Airwallex, Toronto Tech Week, CDW, Elevate, and more.
Kim Ng is the Founder of Two Whimsical Florists, a floral company on a mission to help couples bring their Pinterest vision to life without breaking the budget. They specialize in creating airy, realistic designs made with silk & artificial florals. In just two years, Two Whimsical Florists has helped over 1,000 couples and reached six figures within the first few months of launching.
Before Two Whimsical Florists, Kim’s ultimate dream was to open her own cafe. But somewhere between passion, late nights, and perfectionism, she spiraled into burnout, losing her sense of identity, purpose, and confidence. Her story is one of losing her way, failing, and slowly rebuilding.
Will Greenblatt likes to call himself a “recovering child actor” (and write in the 3rd person). He began doing movies and TV at age 7, but after his brother died in high school, he went down a bad path of drugs & alcohol and quit acting without knowing what to do next. He decided to run away to Spain to teach English, then became an entrepreneur in China, and now uses his weird confluence of experience to help executives and founders tell their story to the world, on stage and online. He's since done over 275 talks in 6 countries for companies like Google, EO & Remax, been called “Canada's best pitch coach” by Founder Institute Waterloo, wrote the book Transform Your Speaking Skills, and won exactly one-and-a half business awards (true story). He lives in Toronto with his wife, 2 daughters, and a psychopathic Corgi named Mathilda.
Your ticket covers admission and you’ll be able to enjoy drinks and food available for purchase from Blue Moon Brewery and FATBAO.
We can’t wait to celebrate the resilience of 3 amazing speakers who'll be sharing their failure stories with us. Come with an open mind, ready to embrace failure, and meet other members of our growing #FuckupNightsTO community!
