Capital Markets Risk Mitigation Framework (RMF) Roundtable
As blockchain adoption accelerates in capital markets, financial institutions face growing pressure to manage risks in new infrastructures. While existing frameworks cover externalized systems like cloud and open-source software, there remains a notable gap in recognized standards for public blockchains.
This closed-door roundtable, presented by GBBC, will convene financial institutions, regulators, and innovators to discuss GBBC’s Risk Mitigation Framework (RMF) for regulated financial institutions.
RMF is an industry-led effort, facilitated by GBBC and Oliver Wyman, to give financial institutions guidelines to analyze and control the non-financial risks that arise when they use public blockchain infrastructure. A cross-sector working group—comprising financial-market infrastructures, global systemically important banks, multilateral development banks, and leading Layer-1 protocol teams—has collaborated to provide a common reference rooted in their practical experience of managing risks in blockchain implementations and to provide an overview of how the new technology can be incorporated into established risk-management framework.
