Join Women of Culture for an intimate Sunday afternoon salon inspired by the extraordinary life, art, and enduring influence of Yayoi Kusama—one of the most recognizable, unconventional, and fascinating artists of our time.
Best known for her hypnotic polka dots, mirrored infinity rooms, immersive installations, and instantly recognizable visual universe, Kusama has spent more than seven decades exploring ideas of infinity, repetition, identity, obsession, connection, and self-obliteration.
But behind the Instagram-famous installations lies a remarkable story: a Japanese woman who arrived in New York in the late 1950s, immersed herself in the male-dominated avant-garde art world, staged radical happenings and performances, and developed ideas that would eventually make her one of the most celebrated living artists in the world.
During this relaxed, salon-style gathering, we’ll go beyond the dots to explore Kusama the artist, the woman, and the cultural phenomenon.
Together, we’ll consider questions like:
Why are we so drawn to repetition, infinity, and immersive art?
Can an artwork be both deeply meaningful and wildly Instagrammable?

We’ll gather over light refreshments in a beautiful private residence near Columbus Circle, making this the perfect way to spend a thoughtful fall Sunday afternoon connecting through art and conversation.
