Under the Same Sky
A participatory dialogue exploring how climate change, particularly heat, intersects with caste, gender, queerness, and health through lived experiences, storytelling, and collective reflection.
“Under the Same Sky” is a two-part participatory dialogue series exploring how climate change affects health and everyday life across caste, gender, and queer identities. It asks a critical question: when climate change affects everyone, why are its health impacts experienced unequally?
The offline edition, “Climate, Caste, Gender & Health,” will be held in Bhopal as a 3–4-hour open participatory gathering. Anyone interested in climate justice can join to listen, share, question, and reflect. Through storytelling, art, and facilitated dialogue, the conversation will explore how heat, water insecurity, housing, work, sanitation, mobility, and access to healthcare intersect with caste and gender to shape people’s health and everyday experiences of climate change.
The online edition, “Heat, Queer Lives & Health,” will focus specifically on how heatwaves affect the health and wellbeing of queer communities. The dialogue will explore experiences related to physical and mental wellbeing, access to healthcare, housing, work, safety, social exclusion, and community support during extreme heat. Through conversations, breakout discussions, and creative sharing, participants will have space to speak from lived experience and reflect collectively.
Together, the two editions recognise that climate justice is also health justice. This is not a lecture or a solution-driven conference, but a space to talk, listen, question, and learn from lived experiences—placing those experiences at the centre of the climate conversation.
