OTC Recommends: PHotoESPAÑA Route
Join us for a relaxed, flexible walking tour through the major exhibitions of PHotoESPAÑA 2026. Discover the festival's highlights with the community before winding down over drinks.
Taking advantage of a broader and more flexible timeframe, we will embark on a curated urban route designed for our community, connecting the key spaces of contemporary photography in the city center. From 18:00 to 21:30, we will visit three iconic festival venues: the prominent Latin American photography exhibition at Casa de América, the open ground-floor galleries of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, and the magnificent documentary photography display at the National Library of Spain. This is a dynamic, unhurried, and purely visual walk to observe, sharpen our perspective, and share impressions as we stroll from one space to the next.
The Ultimate Why
PHotoESPAÑA features dozens of venues scattered across the city, which can feel overwhelming or rushed to navigate independently. We have expanded this walking route to three and a half hours to guarantee a perfectly flexible itinerary, allowing the group to transition smoothly between locations without any time pressure, offering the ultimate seamless cultural experience fully complimentary for our community.
What to Expect
· The Flexible Route: A relaxed, linear walk connecting the exhibition spaces of Alcalá, Cibeles, and Paseo de Recoletos with plenty of time to transit between stops.
· Prestigious Venues: Direct, organized access to the displays at Casa de América, the open section of Círculo de Bellas Artes, and the National Library.
· The Ideal Schedule: Starting at 18:00 to catch the opening of the galleries and moving between spaces as the late afternoon heat fades.
· Post-Route Social: At the end of our journey around 21:30, those who wish can stay for drinks at a nearby terrace to discuss the day's highlights (drinks are paid for individually).
· Authentic Connection: An environment strictly free from digital distractions to fully focus on the visual experience and the group.
Venue / Meeting Point
The Cultural Axis: Our route focuses on three of Madrid's most architecturally and culturally significant institutions, chosen because their grand spaces provide an inspiring backdrop for both the art and our conversations. We will meet outside the majestic gates of the Biblioteca Nacional de España, cut across to the historic exhibitions at Casa de América, and conclude our tour at the iconic Círculo de Bellas Artes.
