About Event

Exploring how climate change is reshaping the lives, livelihoods, and vulnerabilities of communities living around Kaziranga National Park, and what conservation can mean for both wildlife and people.

This event aims to build a deeper understanding of climate change, conservation, adaptation, and community vulnerability. Participants will explore how climate change affects ecosystems, livelihoods, and communities differently, with a focus on identifying local vulnerabilities and practical adaptation responses.

The session will introduce basic concepts of climate change, conservation, adaptation, and vulnerability assessment, followed by interactive discussions on how communities experience and respond to environmental changes. Participants will also learn how community knowledge and lived experiences can contribute to understanding climate risks and developing locally relevant solutions.

A field walk will form an important part of the event, allowing participants to observe local ecosystems, environmental challenges, and community interactions with their surroundings. Through observation and discussion, the activity will connect theoretical understanding with real-world experiences.

The event will encourage participants to think critically about the relationship between climate change, conservation, livelihoods, and community resilience, while highlighting the importance of community-led approaches to environmental action and adaptation.
