QA Meetup | Prague
Devs are shipping at warp speed. But nobody’s getting more time to test.
That’s the theme for STRV’s QA Meetup this November, and we’ve brought in a guest to help us answer it. Filip Hric, one of the most followed voices in the testing world, is joining us with his “Tester 2.0” talk on how testers stay indispensable in the age of AI. Expect a straight answer on which QA habits to keep, which to update and which to let go of.
Alongside him, the STRV QA team is rounding out the night with a stealth talk. It’s hands-on, it comes from something we actually shipped and we’re keeping the rest under wraps until you sign up.
The lineup:
Filip Hric - Tester 2.0: Becoming Indispensable in the Age of AI
Over the past months, we have come to realize that our skills and expertise are not going anywhere. But surviving the AI era is not the same as thriving in it. “Not being replaced yet” isn’t the same as being future-ready. With code being produced faster than ever and teams getting leaner, there seems to be a growing gap between code velocity and code quality. Are we just going to have to live with the fact that software quality is in decline? The answer is "no, but..."
While some things stay the same, testers of tomorrow need to prepare for the trials ahead. Advocates for quality need their voice heard just as before. But strategies and approaches are changing. In this talk, we will explore strengths that make testers indispensable, while taking a sober look at realities that challenge our profession. This talk will discuss which testing convictions need to be held, updated or abandoned in the A.I. era. We'll call this model "Tester 2.0" and maybe you'll find out that you're already on a path to becoming a true asset for the industry.
In this talk we’ll dig into the topics of scaling quality, code
governance, and bridging the widening gap between development velocity and product quality. Because as teams ship faster, quality assurance can't afford to be left behind.
