Elephanta Island Mangrove clean-up
Join us for a hands-on mangrove cleanup at Elephanta Island, Gharapuri, one of Mumbai's most important yet under-protected coastal ecosystems. Mangroves here act as a natural buffer against erosion, support marine biodiversity, and quietly absorb far more carbon than regular forest cover, but they're increasingly choked by plastic and debris washing in from the harbour.
We'll spend the morning clearing waste from the mangrove patches around the island, working alongside the local community as part of ongoing restoration efforts. No experience needed, just wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy and comfortable footwear.
