SEPTEMBER COMM CONVO: FEEDBACK, FEEDFORWARD, AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN

Feedback is part of the job, but it's rarely one-size-fits-all. We biopharma communicators are constantly navigating feedback in every direction: giving input to cross-functional partners, coaching team members, and offering counsel to leadership or clients when the stakes are high. The key is knowing how to adjust our approach based on personality types, power dynamics, and communication preferences while maintaining our influence and protecting relationships. This month's Comm Convo will unpack what constructive feedback actually looks like in our world, when to push, when to pivot, and introduce progressive concepts like "feedforward" to make these conversations more strategic and impactful for everyone involved.

WHY ATTEND

  • Master the art of delivering tough or unpopular feedback in ways that protect relationships and maintains your strategic influence

  • Devise proper framing techniques and timing strategies to avoid catching colleagues off-guard and maximize receptivity

  • Navigate feedback dynamics from coaching direct reports to managing up with senior leadership and executives effectively

  • Discover "feedforward" as a future-focused alternative that sparks change without dwelling on past mistakes

  • Navigate common communication pitfalls and unconscious bias that can derail important conversations
