About Event

Join us each month as Stem & Vine teams up with the BioPark for a relaxed, themed evening designed to bring the science and technology community together. These gatherings are as informal as you want - stop by for a drink, catch up with colleagues, or dive into the full experience.

Every event follows our Think • Taste • Touch model:

  • Think: A short, engaging conversation introduces the science and cultural story behind the theme - no lectures, just accessible insights.

  • Taste: Enjoy curated flavors and beverages that bring the topic to life through sensory discovery.

  • Touch: For those who want to participate, an optional hands-on activity offers a personalized take-home element.

Whether you’re here to connect, unwind, or explore something new, these evenings blend science, culture, and hospitality in a welcoming atmosphere.

Light bites will be served from local vendors, and curated seasonal beverages will be available for purchase.

Speaker Remarks/Demonstration begins around 5:00pm.

FEBRUARY THEME: A Sensory Experience: tasting through sounds and perception

Music does more than shape mood — it can meaningfully influence how we experience flavor. Research in sensory science suggests that sound can alter taste perception by as much as 10% through a phenomenon known as “sonic seasoning,” where specific soundscapes influence the brain’s interpretation of sweetness, bitterness, acidity, and body.

Join us for an immersive tasting experience exploring the intersection of auditory stimuli and flavor perception, presented by CAnE Collective. Participants will sample curated beverages while listening to distinct musical styles, observing firsthand how variations in sound may subtly shift the sensory experience.

This interactive program blends science, perception, and experiential learning, offering attendees an opportunity to explore how multisensory inputs shape taste, memory, and enjoyment.
