Summit Portrait Studio Pop-Up at the KINN
We invite Summit Members to join us at The KINN Venice for a quick-capture portrait with award-winning photographer Stephen McGee, known for his soulful, cinematic captures. This one will be a proper mixer: drinks, a live DJ set and both Summit + KINN communities coming together.
Stephen McGee is a two time National Emmy Award winning filmmaker, photographer, and visual storyteller best known for his long term documentation of Detroit.
He was named "most innovative filmmaker" during a 2017 competition by Shotover and Red Cameras at NAB and received $180k of film gear. His defined cinema has a sense of craftsmanship and timing and has been used in Super Bowl commercials to work for Lamborghini, Intel and Rolls Royce. MCGee has traveled to 40 countries working with organizations like the Obama Administration in China to Unesco Ambassador Kim Phuc in Uganda. Originally from California, McGee moved to Detroit in 2005 and began capturing the city during a period when it was often defined by narratives of decline. Through journalism, nonprofit collaborations, and independent filmmaking, he has built a reputation for telling deeply human stories that challenge stereotypes and highlight resilience.
