​A community-based programme that brings children and community members together to understand the changes happening in their local environment, learn about climate change through their own experiences, and take simple collective actions to protect trees, water, land and nature.

​This programme will create a space for children and community members to talk about the environmental changes they are seeing in their own lives and surroundings. Rather than understanding climate change only as a global issue, participants will reflect on local experiences such as changes in rainfall and temperature, the loss of trees and green spaces, increasing plastic waste, changes in water availability and their impact on everyday life.

​Children will take part in creative and interactive activities, including poster-making, a climate and nature quiz and a documentary screening. These activities will help them understand the connection between climate change, nature and their own communities, while also giving them space to share their observations, questions and ideas.

​The programme will also include practical collective action, such as planting and caring for suitable local trees and discussing how communities can reduce plastic waste and protect common spaces. The focus will be not only on planting a tree for one day, but on understanding the responsibility of caring for trees and nature over time.

​Through this programme, children and community members will be encouraged to see themselves as active participants in protecting their environment. The event will conclude with a shared community commitment to take small but meaningful actions to protect local ecosystems and contribute to a healthier and more climate-resilient future.
