Our Forest, Our Climate
Tribal youth and children will learn about forests, traditional knowledge, water, medicinal plants, and climate change.
Tribal youth and children from Manthanam, Maikuni, and Kollimoola will come together to learn and share their knowledge about nature and climate change. We will discuss the connection between forests and climate, and learn about traditional knowledge passed down by elders. We will also talk about water conservation and medicinal plants found around our communities. A children’s gathering will be organised to encourage children to share their ideas and experiences about nature. We will also create a plastic-free message and discuss how plastic affects our land, water, and animals. Through simple examples from our own communities, we will talk about natural disasters and how climate change can make them worse. The activity will create a space for elders, youth, and children to learn from each other and take small actions to protect our environment
