​Forest conservation by traditional knowledge of Van Gujjar Community.

​As part of Climate Week 2026, we propose to organize a week-long community-based programme with the Van Gujjar community, focusing on environmental protection, climate change awareness and the important role of pastoral communities in protecting forests, grasslands, water resources and biodiversity.

​During the week, we plan to organize community discussions, youth engagement activities, Native plantation and nature-based activities, and awareness sessions on climate change and environmental conservation. The programme will also highlight the traditional knowledge and sustainable practices of the Van Gujjar community.

​The programme will also encourage community members, especially young people, to take practical steps towards environmental protection and climate action while promoting the importance of traditional knowledge and community-led conservation.
