Yawanawá Concert, Hapé Circle & Market Fundraiser
We are honored to invite you to a special evening of sacred connection, music, and joy — a heartfelt musical circle with Keneihu and Shawma Yawanawa as they share their rich, vibrant tradition and raise funds for their home (Mutum Village) in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon.
An unforgettable evening of encounter with the enchanted universe of the Yawanawa. As they grace California for the last time in 2025, we gather to honor the sacred roots and healing music of this living tradition from the heart of the Amazon Rainforest.
The night will open with ancient ancestral chants, followed by vibrant rhythms and instruments that will invite us all to move, rejoice, and connect with the powerful spirit of the forest. Hapé (Rume) will be offered, inviting a moment of deeper grounding and connection with this sacred medicine, served by revered Yawanawa leaders.
For generations, the Yawanawa people have shared with the world the profound healing power of their music - and this evening offers a rare opportunity to experience that medicine firsthand.
Come join us! Yhuuuu! (All ages)
About Hapé / Rume
Rume is both a medicine and a spirit - a powerful ally that must always be approached with honor and respect. It serves many purposes: connecting us with the spirit of the forest, grounding us in the present moment, and clearing energies that do not belong to the body while protecting one’s energetic field.
During the Sacred Circle, those who feel called will have the opportunity to open themselves to rume, with care and reverence. Further teachings and explanations will be shared within the circle.
