​Belfast Design Meetup is a free after-work event for designers to learn, connect, and grow together. Starting at 5:30 PM, we’ll have talks, discussions, and real-world experience sharing in Belfast City Centre at the stunning MCS Group event space.

​1️⃣ Inclusion as an Ethical Practice by Rachel Sloan, Senior Designer at Big Motive and UI/UX Designer of the Year at the NI Tech Awards 2025.

​Too often, design changes only when laws do. This talk explores how we can shift from compliance to conscience, using inclusive design, the Children’s Code, and emerging lessons from AI ethics to build safer, fairer, and more human digital experiences.

​2️⃣ What GenAI Reveals About How We See UX Design and Where Designers Need to Evolve Next by Maria McGinn, UX Design Manager at Aflac.

​This talk challenges assumptions about UX in the GenAI era, showing that while AI can create interfaces, it cannot grasp intent, behavior, or trust. Real design now lies in shaping context and decisions and understanding when and how humans and AI should interact.

​3️⃣ Designing AI Agent Interactions by Damian Gribben, Head of Design at Ocula Technologies.

​Everyone is welcome, including Experience Designers, Product Designers, all types of Designers, Developers, Managers, Marketers, Researchers, and all design-related professionals. It is not just for designers but for anyone interested in creating better user experiences and learning from one another.

​The venue is the MCS Group office event space. We thank MCS Group for hosting the event and providing beers and soft drinks.
