About the speaker:
Dr.-Ing. Stephan Ihmels is Head of Segment Marketing & System Architecture for Industrial Automation and Robotics at STMicroelectronics. He brings more than 15 years of experience in industrial technology, helping manufacturers leverage automation, robotics, AI, and digitalization to transform operations and create competitive advantage.
Throughout his career in global and regional leadership roles in Europe and the United States, Stephan has focused on developing customer-centric strategies and system solutions that bridge operational technology, software, and semiconductor innovation. His expertise covers industrial automation, robotics, AI at the edge, digital manufacturing, industrial IoT, and intelligent system architectures.
At STMicroelectronics, Stephan works with customers, partners, and industry ecosystems to advance the next generation of autonomous and connected industrial systems, combining sensing, processing, connectivity, motor control, and power technologies into scalable solutions for modern manufacturing and robotics applications.
Stephan holds a PhD in Computer-Aided Manufacturing and Technology Management and is based in Munich, Germany.
