how to make Portland more resilient (Q&A with Zoe Serrano, Rogue Climate)
Make friends who care about stuff at Soapbox Portland, the city's most fun community space for climate action!
We're having a party for people who care about the planet. Same time, same place, every week. You're invited.
Many of us are having existential crises about wildfires, flooding, mudslides, and all the other things to think about as a human being in the Pacific Northwest. What can we actually do about this?!?!
We may not be able to stop a disaster in its tracks (yet), but we CAN build more resilient communities, in our homes, in our neighborhoods, and in our state.
Zoe Serrano from Rogue Climate is here to tell us about it! She'll educate us on resilience as a whole, urban vs. rural considerations, and what we can do to ensure we center justice in these conversations. You'll leave this event with an understanding of what you can do in the short- and long-term (and next week at our ACT night, you can put this into practice)!
Our plan
5-6PM: Chomp & chat. Grab a plant-based meal (dinner is included) and a new friend
6-7PM: Q&A and discussion co-hosted with Zoe Serrano; questions provided by YOU! This will be educational, interactive, and fun.
7-8PM: Peer learning & more mingling
