[officehours 45] How to Stay Customer-Obsessed Without Being Obsessive — A HubSpot CRM + n8n Workflow Build
In officehours 44, we dove into MCP UI/Apps, and compared MCP with ACP and A2a. For officehours 45, Colton will show you how to obsess over customers with AI. Your CRM is great at telling you who your customers are. It's terrible at telling you what they're up to.
Someone on your list just raised a round, started hiring, showed up in the news, or signaled a shift you'd have wanted to know about right away. Instead, you find out three weeks later, if you find out at all. Keeping tabs on every customer by hand isn't realistic, so most teams just don't.
This session won't fix that, but you will if you do what we show you.
We'll build an n8n workflow that watches your customers for you. It pulls a list from HubSpot, searches the live web for what's actually happening with each contact or company, cuts through the noise, and delivers one clean briefing every week. Even better, it logs the findings back onto the HubSpot record and creates follow-up tasks, so the intel doesn't get buried in your inbox.
It runs every Monday morning while you're getting coffee.
You don't need to be a developer to follow along, and you don't need any prior n8n experience. We'll build it live, explain each piece in plain language, and show you how to point it at your own list.
What we'll cover:
Pulling a HubSpot list into a workflow that monitors it for you
Finding current public-web updates on each contact or company
Turning a pile of search results into the few things worth knowing
Writing those findings back into HubSpot automatically
Creating follow-up tasks based on what the workflow finds
Repointing the same setup at prospects, competitors, partners, donors, or anyone else you need to track
Who should come: Anyone sitting on a list of people or companies they keep meaning to follow more closely. Sales, founders, marketers, customer success, nonprofit and policy teams all welcome. No n8n experience needed.
Come see how much your CRM could be telling you, without you having to ask.
Colton Proctor is an AI Engineer at Anant Corporation, where he builds production AI automation systems for clients in finance, housing policy, and trade associations. His work centers on open AI infrastructure (n8n, LibreChat, and the Model Context Protocol) deployed inside client environments rather than locked behind a vendor’s walls. Recent builds include a media monitoring system that tracks news across 170+ organizations and delivers executive briefings, an agent that drafts regulatory comment letters from live federal dockets, and a pipeline that turns deal documents into formatted investment committee memos. He also leads hands-on AI training through Anant’s Intelcraft program. Colton holds a Master’s in Software Engineering and is based in Washington, DC.
