Drawing Flowers with Emily Dickinson
Registration
About Event
Like many poets, Emily Dickinson often used flowers as metaphors. However, unlike many other poets, she had a pretty precise understanding of how flowers worked, and of how those mechanics influenced a flower’s appearance. In this workshop, we will consider Dickinson’s keen eye by drawing a flower and taking what we learn in that process to one or two of her poems. (Don’t know how to draw? Neither do I really, but I don’t let that stop me, and you shouldn’t either!)
