Mind Made — Think + Build with AI (Non-Technical Beginners Welcome!)
About Event
Not a coding class. No technical background needed.
Mind Made is a three-hour evening in Hong Kong where you get to build an app or a website — starting with the thinking, not the tool. Most events and hackathons skip that part. The AI runs off. It gets overwhelming. You're no longer building your idea — you're chasing the AI's version of it. This round, you take back control. We build the right thing, not just things right.
This is for you if you:
Have an idea stuck in your Notes app — and keep telling yourself "maybe someday"
Want to finally build something you can show, not just describe
Have tried an AI tool before and ended up more confused than when you started
Are tired of the AI running off in directions you never asked for
What you'll leave with
A working version of your idea — built by you, live, and ready to show your team, your users, or just future-you
Your one-page strategy — the brief that kept your build on track, and your north star for whatever you make next
A repeatable way of working with AI — so your thinking leads the tool, on this project and every one after
How the evening works
First, think ruthlessly — find your north star. What are you building, for whom, and why? This part stays analog, with peers, before you touch Lovable.
Then, build in control. Turn that strategy into your first prompt and go from blank screen to working version in Lovable, with me right there when it gets out of hand.
Finally, share proudly. Demo what you made, then leave with a framework for every build after this one.
What people say about Mind Made
"I never thought I'd build an app — mostly because I didn't have an idea that felt worth building. Then I joined Sharon's workshop on IWD, and something clicked. I had a quick coaching practice I've used for years to help people manage their emotions and triggers, and turn a reaction into a response. In that session, I turned it into an app. My coaching clients now use it as a self-serve tool. I came out pleasantly surprised and a lot more confident that I can turn any idea into an app when I need to." — Jing, coach
Zoe pitched a Duolingo-style AI education app in one of our sessions, presented it during the sharing session, then kept building after the room emptied. It's now Applied AI Academy, live and helping working professionals learn practical AI. In her words: "Your event gave me the push to turn an idea into a real product, and I'm genuinely grateful for the inspiration."
"Love the pace of the workshop! Instructions are easy to follow, the pace is not overwhelming but suitable and cozy!" — past participant
"I really enjoyed the structured workshop, especially the time spent selecting photographs and filling out our PRD since it made the vibe coding process much clearer when starting with a plan." — past participant

What to bring

FAQ
Why do I need to think, talk to peers, and go analog before I build?
Because when you skip straight to the tool, you end up building the AI's version of your idea instead of yours. The first hour of Mind Made has no laptops and no AI on purpose — just you, the problem, and peer feedback to pressure-test it. Zoe, one of our past builders, told me that exercise reshaped what she actually wanted to build, not just how she built it. I wrote more about why this part isn't optional — for kids or adults — on LinkedIn.
What happens if the event sells out?
You'll be placed on the waitlist. Your card details are held at registration, but you won't be charged unless a spot opens up — if one does, I'll reach out so you can grab it.
What if I can't make it?
Cancel 7 or more days before the session and you'll get a full refund. Inside 7 days, or if you don't show up, the seat is non-refundable — Lovable credits and your spot are already locked in by then. You're welcome to send a friend in your place instead — just let me know who's coming at least 3 hours before the session so I can update your registration and Lovable access in time.
Is the session in English?
Yes. Lovable works entirely in English, so you'll want to be comfortable reading and typing in it — the session is facilitated in English.
Who's running this
I'm Sharon. I help people who can't code build real things with AI — and more to the point, build the right things.
Over the last year I've taught 120+ non-technical people to do exactly that across SheBuilds and Global Service Jam HK, built tools like Countable and Island Time. Mind Made is everything I've learned, distilled into one evening — all aimed at the part that actually matters: the thinking before the building. sharonng.work
You've described this idea enough times. Come build it. 🛠️
