The Inaugural Kasiology Festival

​Launched by The Creative20 x Jozi My Jozi, the inaugural Kasiology Festival brings Soweto’s creative spirit to life through design, lifestyle, music and storytelling. Rooted in the meaning of “Kasi” – identity, culture, history and vision – this one-day celebration transforms Soweto’s iconic spaces into hubs of exhibitions, panels, tours, and performances.

​Open to the public on the 11 of October from 9:00 to 22:00 with free registration, Kasiology marks the beginning of a growing township-based festival series that positions creativity as the new gold for South Africa’s future.

​About Inaugural Kasiology Festival

​This is the inaugural Kasiology Festival, part of the Creative20 “Jozi our Creative City” campaign. We seek to make creativity the new gold, positioning the creative economy as the new economic logic for the city. We want to develop on ongoing Festival that will grow and evolve over time, creating jobs and expanding the creative economy of our townships. Our vision is to grow it into an international experience and product the celebrates design, creativity, lifestyle and experiences in hoods, townships, favellas, and similar spaces across the world.
