About Event

What Does It Take to Make Housing Collaboration Work?
Affordable housing is one of the most pressing challenges in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Solving it requires bold collaboration across sectors. Are you a developer eager to accelerate projects? A nonprofit seeking social-purpose alliances? An investor looking for scalable, impactful opportunities? Or a civic-minded leader committed to Truth and Reconciliation and ready to learn how to partner with Indigenous communities in a Good Way? If so, this event is for you.

Why Now?
Across the region, housing partnerships are gaining momentum. Governments, nonprofits, First Nations, and private sector leaders are joining forces to deliver solutions across the housing continuum. At the same time, Canada’s innovators in proptech, modular construction, and advanced manufacturing are transforming how we build - faster, smarter, and more sustainably.

About the Event
Hosted by CivicAction in collaboration with DMZ’s Centre for Housing Innovation, this event is more than a discussion - it’s a meeting place for established leaders and emerging innovators. Building on our recent Workforce Housing reports, we’ll explore how collaboration across housing development, technology, and community can unlock stalled projects, drive affordability, and shape the future of housing.

For over 20 years, CivicAction has convened leaders to tackle the region’s toughest challenges. This timely conversation will show how collective action can spark new building innovations and propel the innovators we urgently need.
