YOUNG AFRICAN LEADERS CONFERENCE (YALCON) 2026
Theme: From Idea to Global Impact : Advancing Youths Involvement Towards Africa's Sustainable Development.
YALCON is a premier annual conference designed to empower young African leaders with the skills, knowledge, and networks necessary to drive positive change and contribute to the continent's development for the next 10 years (2025 to 2035).
YALCON isn’t your average conference. It’s a launchpad, where young changemakers from underserved communities will:
● Get access to mentorship, training, and seed funding
● Guided to develop community projects anchored on the Sustainable Development Goals
● Empowered to move from ideas to action, with real support at every step of the way
● Be intensely engaged from October through May 2027 not just talking about impact, but funding and tracking community projects they are executing.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
YALCON will feature a range of exciting and engaging activities, including:
● A dynamic and engaging conference experience with Keynote speeches from renowned African leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
● Panel discussions on topics such as entrepreneurship, quality education, leadership, innovation, and on achieving sustainable development in Africa with emphasis on the role of youths.
● Workshops and training/Breakout sessions on practical ways youths can be involved in achieving sustainable development
● Pitch competition for young African innovators to showcase their ideas and projects, opportunities to be funded to execute your innovative projects, and win prizes
● A platform to connect with like-minded young leaders and build meaningful relationships.
WHO CAN ATTEND:
The conference is open to young people across Africa who:
● Are passionate about leadership and committed to contributing to the growth and transformation of their community
● Are between the ages of 18 and 35
● Are innovative thinkers and solution-providers
● Are willing to learn, share ideas, and collaborate with others.
