Within the Fabric of Film is an intimate conversation exploring the intersection of fashion, costume, film and visual storytelling, and the creative work behind what we ultimately see on screen.
At the centre is Izzy Camilleri, an award-winning Canadian fashion and costume designer and founder of IZ Adaptive. Across a career spanning nearly four decades, Camilleri's work has appeared in publications including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar, and has been worn by cultural icons including Meryl Streep, David Bowie and Angelina Jolie. Her accolades include CAFA Womenswear Designer of the Year and the CAFA Fashion Impact Award. ⭐️
Her extensive work in film has included original designs, reproductions and period pieces, including the creation of the now-iconic fur coat worn by Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada. 👠
Through an intimate conversation with Izzy, followed by special guests from across fashion and film, we'll explore how clothing becomes character, how fashion shapes visual storytelling, and what happens behind the scenes to bring those ideas to life.
