AImful Lightning Talks: Data on Human Terms
You leave a data trail without meaning to. You tapped your card, allowed a location in settings, filled in a form at a counter, just browsed the internet... It’s like breadcrumbs, dropped behind you all day long, and we all drop them.
On 4 November, in Helsinki, in AImful Lightning Talks: Data on Human Terms, we and our Data Detectives follow some of those trails to the end and tell you what’s waiting there.
Because a trail of breadcrumbs can be followed. By a friend. By a bird that picks them up. By someone in the forest who knows now the way to your door. And do most of us have the faintest idea where our own data trail leads? Or whom it draws out of the trees?
There are many trails and lots of personal data out there. To see what happens with this data, our detectives went in different directions, travelled different lengths. After a short keynote, they’ll have five minutes each to walk you through their chase: what they went in for, what they discovered, what made them stop and hold a breath. Some of it will unsettle you, some of it is absurd. Some might be the small, satisfying victory of catching what’s really going on. And often you will feel: ouch, that’s me. I do that too.
Five minutes for each breadcrumb trail of your data, followed all the way.
And then the harder part, together: the findings might be the easy half. The real question of this evening is: what do we do once we know this.

Anastasiia Kozina, Design Lead from Illusian's emerging impact tech lab. She will highlight what type of data steers social impact work.
Jana Pejoska, Innovation and transformation consultant, MyData podcast host, focusing on what happens with our data when AI gets hold on it.
Location: This is only in-person event. The premises of our generous co-host, Illusian, are located in central area of Helsinki. Kluuvikatu 6 A, take elevator to the 7th floor.
