AImful Lightning Talks: Data on Human Terms

​🔍 Right now, a file is being written about you. In your phone, your laptop, on your wrist, in a form you filled at some counter, in a camera you never thought to look up and notice.

​On 4 November, eight people open theirs and read it out loud.

​This is Data Detectives, the new edition of our Lightning Talks: Data on Human Terms. Nobody has done this with data before. We have a short keynote plus eight curious people. Each one of them got a secret mission to explore a single door the rest of us walk past every day. We sent them in to see what was really on the other side. They come back with things they cannot un-see. You’ll get five minutes of each.

​And what is the most striking part? You will recognise your own life, directly or indirectly, in every single case. The small, stomach-dropping wait… I do that too.

​Eight strikes in one night. Apart, each one is just a clue. Together in one room, they blend into a collective picture of our data lives that no panel, no report, no conference has ever drawn in this format. 🧩 And after the eight stories, the whole room discusses on what did we just see, and what do we do when we get home.

​Come once: because once may be all there is. This is a first edition; and first editions do not come back. The best detectives have a habit of slipping away into a hidden work.  November 4th is the night it is born, and you could be in the room.

​Cost: free, advance registration required.
Location: This is only in-person event. The premises of our partner, Illusian, are located in central area of Helsinki. Precise arrival instructions will be sent to the people with tickets before the event along with the event reminder email.

​We will confirm registrations on a first-come, first-served basis, but if we have a waitlist, we will prioritise members of AImful Ry in the queue for the event. Please cancel in advance if you cannot participate, to allow others on the waitlist to attend.
