🌀 Curiosity Lab May Cohort
Curiosity Lab is 4-week qtbipoc creative play lab for getting unstuck, being bad on purpose, and remembering that creativity gets easier when we stop doing it alone 🌱
Many of us carry creative desires that don’t get space to breathe. Not because they aren’t important, but because they're often swallowed by perfectionism, capitalism, isolation, burnout, or creative self abandonment.
The solution we're often told is involves approaching it alone. Just get the right organization, your calendar together, your focus in check.
Curiosity Lab offers a different path: a room where everyone gets to begin at the same time. A communal rhythm of showing up, together, and seeing what happens when we practice devotion to our curiosity.
Once a week for one month, the intention is to build a rhythm: returning to the same space, with the same group, and slowly developing a relationship to your own curiosity that feels more sustainable, more spacious, and more alive.
⭐️ How does it work?
It's pretty simple:
We arrive and share what we’re working on or curious about that night
We spend 1.5 hours following our own curiosity
We come back together for communal sharing of the paths we explored.
This is not a class, or critique. There is no curriculum. This is a communal exploration of the worlds that spark wonder within us.
You can spend Curiosity Lab doing whatever calls to you: writing poems, sketching comics, building a cyber deck, producing a song, researching sea creatures, staring at an idea you don’t understand yet, or following whatever thread is alive for you that night.
You do not need a finished idea.
You do not need to know what you’re making before you arrive.
This is less about what you produce and more about what becomes possible when your curiosity has time, attention, and communal support.

🌿 The Communal Curiosity Fund
For this May cohort, we’re also trying a communal curiosity fund. If we're talking about creative practice, I also want us to consider what it means to resource it.
Here’s how it works:
You choose what to contribute on the sliding scale
All contributions go into one shared pool
At the start of the 4 weeks, the pool is split evenly among the cohort
Everyone uses their share to invest back into their curiosity: supplies, books, tools, materials, a class, an experience, or whatever helps you follow your curiosity
This is a small experiment in collectively investing in qtbipoc curiosity & play.
Attendance
Because this is a small cohort held in my home, please only join if you can attend at least 3 of the 4 sessions. If something changes, no shame, just let me know as early as you can so I can plan with care.
