About Event

Join us in the Etobicoke Council Chamber to learn how open data (open.toronto.ca) works at the City of Toronto, then apply it directly to Etobicoke City Council motions!

We host monthly events where you can find us (the Open Data team), Open Data users and enthusiasts, and dedicated public servants fostering and bolstering open data projects and usage.

In August, we're coming to Etobicoke and spotlighting how open data can be applied to local civic issues!

Here's what's we've got in mind:

  1. Program Intro - we'll introduce ourselves and give an overview of the City of Toronto's Open Data program, how it currently runs, and how you can use it!

  2. Etobicoke Spotlight - we'll highlight some key Etobicoke City Council motions and the open data that informs them!

  3. Brainstorm and Jam - connect with fellow residents and see how you could improve Etobicoke with open data! Also, tell us how the open data program could be more useful to you, and we'll see how we can help!

  4. Meet Each Other - technologists, public servants, and other civic enthusiasts will be in the room - make friends, share learnings, and find opportunities to collaborate!

We'll have some samosas on deck in case you get hungry - see you there!
