Agent Engineering
Agent Engineering is emerging as a discipline in its own right. Intelligent AI Agents are getting smarter. Once agents use tools, maintain context, write code, search, remember, interact with other systems and operate over long-running workflows, the model is only one part of the engineering problem. It brings together the engineering practices required to take agents from prototype to reliable production systems:

Talk: Software Development as Constrained Optimization
Abstract:
For most of my career, my job was writing code.Today that's a small part of what I do: AI can take care of the implementation. My job now is to formulate the problem for the AI to solve - choose the metrics to optimize and the constraints to respect - then make it fast and easy for the AI to iterate. This sometimes feels like herding the model: cutting off all the bad routes, so its randomness can only push in the direction of the improvement I want. In this talk, I'll review three real-world projects through this lens, and propose practical ways to set up feedback for the model. This is not a software-factory pitch.
I still write code, and my review is often the most important constraint, but I don't think it makes sense to pretend that me writing and reading all the code is the best way to build software anymore. Luckily, in a world where AIs write the code, the human who formulates the problem is more valuable than the human who wrote the code was a year ago.

Talk: If coding is solved, what's left?
Abstract:
A lot of code is generated by agents, and with time, manual coding will go away (almost) completely. What are human engineers going to do then? Will we even have human engineers?
Can agents just do all the planning, coding, reviewing, and testing for us? Do humans have something that LLMs don't?
I think there are some hard limits on what can be delegated, and how. While machines can do a lot of very intelligent work, there are things they won't be doing unless Skynet takes over the world.

📋 Shape of the Day
08:00–16:30 at Everyman Canary Wharf.
Three talks → networking break → three talks → lunch → two talks → networking break → two talks → short close. Informal networking continues at the venue after 16:30.
Each session is 35 minutes, including 10 minutes of Q&A. Slot order is set once all 10 talks are confirmed. Final timetable published before 24 September 2026.

The conference takes place in a boutique cinema rather than a hotel ballroom. Expect a large cinema screen, 7.1 audio and armchair and sofa seating designed for a full day of focused technical talks. Canary Wharf is the financial hub of London served by the Jubilee line, Elizabeth line and DLR. Further information on finding the venue will follow closer to the event.
Breakfast and lunch are included.
P.S The venue is awesome but bit tricky to find so extra guidance will be provided for the attendees and speakers few days before conference so that everyone can find the venue easily.
