We start the day with our most exclusive Sofa Talk, with Stefana Hoti, Deputy Mayor of Malmö, responsible for city planning and urban development.

We start with Stefana Hoti, Deputy Mayor of Malmö, responsible for city planning and urban development.

The city just announced its new budget. We want to understand what it means for families and how it connects to the preferable future Malmö is working toward. What hidden opportunities or risks might we miss if we're only reading headlines? What critical decisions being made now will shape Malmö in 5, 10, or 20 years?

Stefana leads Miljöpartiet and has spent nearly eight years at the heart of city decision-making. As a key figure in the governing coalition, she's been involved in policies shaping the city. She brings decades of civil-society experience with deep commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Interviewed by Jaleel Miles, entrepreneur and upcoming global founder. They'll dive into how strategies are formulated, what the budget means in practice, and Malmö's plans for a more inclusive future.

Part 2: Building Business, Building Community

08:45 – From Strategy to Action

Malin has been on the ground in Rosengård for nearly 10 years, pioneering an approach focused on long-term relationship work including local residents in the conversation, building genuine connections, and daring to work with the community toward a preferable future together.

This approach has led to measurable results: 7 out of 10 residents now report high confidence that the police care about local problems one of the highest levels of public trust in vulnerable areas in Malmö. The work has also contributed to the lowest overall problem index for Malmö in the history of safety measurements.

We'll discuss the specific steps that led to this change, what challenges they overcame, and how we can sustain this momentum for a safer future.

Interviewed by Kotada Yonus—Founder & CEO of Aktarr.

09:15 – Networking Break: Coffee, Mingle & 5-Star Baklava (30 min)

Now we break from the future to talk about the present. What is happening right now to ordinary people who face challenges in daily life. What should we be aware of regarding the future from their perspective?

Part 3: What's Really Happening to Families in Malmö

09:45 – From Policy to Reality

Legal Reality: What Families Are Facing

Legal Reality: What Families Are Facing

We hear from Advokat Ada Alak from Alak Advokatbyrå. Practicing since 2005, Ada specializes in family law, migration law, and honor-related cases. With roots in Iraq, she works in Swedish, Arabic, and English serving clients facing language barriers and complex legal challenges. She's appeared in SVT documentaries and provides pro bono legal support at women's shelters.

What are they seeing in daily work with families? What legal challenges might decision makers not fully understand?

Reality: 25 Years on the Frontlines
From Policy to Reality

Then Dr. Adel Bin Jabr, who has worked more than 25 years in healthcare—from surgery to family medicine—shares what he sees affecting families in Malmö. Is there something we've missed during the conversation? What should we as leaders, citizens, and policymakers be aware of that we might have missed in mainstream media?

Part 4: Where It All Comes Together

10:15 – The View from Fryshuset
We finish the morning session with our honored guest, Jenny Berg—Head of Fryshuset Malmö.

Jenny is in a unique position where she can see the direct impact of decision-makers' choices on young people and families in Malmö. She works with the future of many young people every single day. She will give us a powerful summary: What is she seeing? Where do city strategy, family reality, and youth futures intersect? What's working—and what needs to change?
