AI & Election Integrity: What's happening, what's missing, and what is there still time to do
AI is changing how campaigns reach voters, how voters find information, and what people see and hear. It has potential to help strengthen our democracy, or help collapse it.
Join people from across the political spectrum, and from tech, AI, and civic/democracy groups for an open conversation about what's happening in this election cycle, and what groups are working on to try to keep our elections trustworthy.
Rapid Response Initiatives
This issue emerged as a top priority at the SF Innovators & Investors for Democracy Forum on October 8, where we started drafting a cross-partisan set of principles for AI & election integrity, and asks to AI and platform companies to show the public how they are protecting our elections.
➡️ Please see the draft set of principles here.
Feel free to review and add comments or suggestions directly on the draft, and we'll review further during the call on Oct 20.
Speakers:
Melissa Hooper, Director of the Center for Constitutional Democracy at UC Law SF
Sheila Warren, Board Chair of the Advanced AI Society
David Nabti, Founder/ED, DemocracyWeek.net, and the AI & Election Integrity initiative
