HackTalk: Matthew Lee
Matthew Lee is Head of Development at Poseidon Research, an independent AI safety lab in New York City focused on deception and hidden information in AI systems. Poseidon Research's current work centers on models' capability and propensity for steganography, including model organism work to understand how sophisticated model-generated steganography can be, steganography via actions in an agentic setting, realistic conditions under which it emerges, and new black-box and white-box defenses. Matthew holds MScs in physics, the philosophy of science, and machine learning from the University of St Andrews, LSE, and UCL, respectively.
