What’s worth your attention? A conversation for writers.
More gets written now than ever before, and less of it gets read closely. Yet some writers still reach readers on other continents, in other professions and in far corners of the internet, often without trying to. What are they doing that the rest of us isn't?
We'll treat attention as the currency of today's economy and look at it from the writer's side: how to invite someone to pay attention to your writing, and is it even worth trying with the state of today’s diminishing attention spans? Perhaps even more interesting: what happens to your voice when you optimise for others’ attention rather than your own?
There's no stage and no panel. Shayan will open with a few provocations and everyone will be invited to share their take on attention from a literary perspective. Come with a writer you can't stop reading, and be ready to say why.
Expect good questions, better disagreements, and plenty of time afterwards to meet the other writers, readers and builders in the room over drinks.
Open to writers of all levels and types!
Guests to be announced.
