Backyard Concert-- Jefferson Bergey!
Hard to believe it's already the fourth show in this year's backyard concert series! On August 8 we are lucky enough to have Jefferson Bergey! Come join some awesome folks in my backyard and listen to sweet tunes under the trellis.
Jefferson Bergey:
On any given weekend, the musically promiscuous Oakland bard, Jefferson Bergey, can be seen leading bands at high-pressure events like weddings and corporate parties all over the greater Bay Area. Or he’s fronting Freestone Peaches: A Tribute to the Allman Brothers Band. Or quite possibly he’s crooning a Frank Sinatra review or he’s at a restaurant or bar negotiating random covers on the spot.
But how often does he get an opportunity to play HIS music at an intimate house concert that’s practically in his neighborhood?!
Not. Often.
Especially for his kinky, graphic novel, D&D-nerd songs!
Saturday, August 8th he’ll be doing exactly that, but instead of a setlist he’s hired to perform, he’ll be showcasing his quirky, cartoonish original music at the helm of his live-looping solo rig. He’s going to play (NSFW) songs from his 11-year residency with Bawdy Storytelling!, his upcoming musical-fiction album, Ruby’s Rhythm of the Road Pt. 1., AND his slightly-viral, counter-culture compositions inspired by his obsession with the Dungeon Crawler Carl book series. (He learned recently that’s called “Filk”)
It’s gonna be SxX(Doll heads), Dr*gs (at Phish shows), and Soft Rock n Roll (plus live-loops and game-show sound drops). Come get WEIRD.
The Deets:
Doors to my backyard will open at 5:00pm on Saturday, August 8, and the music will start at 6:00. Feel free to bring any snacks/drinks to share (or just for you!). Tickets are sliding scale, $20-40 (or more, if you really like to support artists!) and, if we sell out online, there may be some available at the door, too. We'll have chairs set up, but feel free to bring anything else that will make you comfortable. We will also have a raffle to support an awesome organization! Please be mindful and respectful of neighbors, and we can't wait to have you join as we bring together sweet community with sweet music!
