AI + Robotics Panel & Demo
AI + Robotics: From Code to Motion
Artificial intelligence is rapidly moving beyond software into the physical world through robotics. Join The AI Collective Atlanta for a panel discussion & demo on Wed. March 25 at Tech North Atlanta. The panel will explore how AI is shaping the next generation of robots and intelligent machines. From autonomous systems and AI-powered perception to real-world applications in industry, security, logistics, and everyday life, this conversation will focus on what is working today and what is coming next.
Panelists
Jonathan Balloch, PhD, Senior Software Engineer, Anduril Industries
I am a PhD applied scientist and engineer focused on developing the next generation of learning robots and AI agents. I believe that the fundamental challenge in all data-driven AI design comes down to bridging the gap between the agent's data needs and the biases naturally present in the data. The best way to handle bias in data is to attempt to model and be transparent about that bias so as to set expectations appropriately. This is fundamental to the way I approach my solutions in continual machine learning, reinforcement learning, and computer vision. In addition to robotics and AI, have educational and professional experience in physics, math, and computer science, which enables me to contribute theoretical and practical insight to technical solutions.
Luis Guzman, Founder/CEO Systerm Technology Works, LLC
As the CEO and founder of System Technology Works LLC, I have a mission to provide an accessible humanoid robotic platform for education and research. With over 20 years of experience in software engineering, IT infrastructure and sheet metal manufacture, I have the technical skills and the vision to lead and execute complex projects that leverage cutting-edge technologies and deliver high-quality solutions.
Chilunem Michael, Data Scientist, Ciena
I’m grateful to have spent time with the GeorgiaTech GIT Society of Black engineers. Speaking to the students on topics of Sales, Data, Business Development and Innovation. I learned a lot from their experiences. It was nostalgic for me talking to college students. Looking forward to more events like this. Big thanks to Ciena and Black @ Ciena for the opportunity.
Moderator
Curt (CJ) Johnson, Senior Director, U.S. Sales and Marketing, Robotic Services
For the past 14 years, I have worked in digital transformational roles in robotics, AI, SaaS, mobility and web performance marketing. This involves all aspects of the business, most recently improving industrial, hotel and restaurant profits through service robotics and automation.
The panel will bring together practitioners working at the intersection of AI and robotics to discuss how advances in machine learning, computer vision, and agent-based systems are enabling robots to sense, decide and act in the air, on the ground, and underwater. Expect practical insights into how these technologies are being developed, deployed, and integrated into businesses and research environments.
Arrive early for a live robot demonstration before the discussion begins. The event will take place Wednesday, March 25 from 5:30–8:30 pm at Tech North Atlanta (formerly Tech Alpharetta). This session is organized by The AI Collective Atlanta and is designed for technologists, founders, researchers, and anyone interested in how AI is moving from the digital world into physical systems.
As always, food and drink, engaging conversation, and incredible company will all be provided!
