Chapter One: The AI Collective Comes to Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs finally has one.
The AI Collective is a global nonprofit — 250,000 members, 250+ chapters across 60 countries, with partners including Anthropic, Microsoft, Nvidia, and the Linux Foundation. We're the third chapter in Colorado, after Boulder and Denver.
Everybody in this city is quietly convinced they're behind on AI. They're not. They're just doing it alone.
Who this is for
The hungry. The lost. The obsessed. The ones who haven't started yet.
Builders and engineers who want somebody to argue with. Business owners who've been told AI fixes everything and haven't seen it yet. Hobbyists and tinkerers. The person who built something at two in the morning and can't quite explain what it does. The person who's read every newsletter and still hasn't opened the thing.
All of you. Same room. That's not an accident — it's the design.
What we're building
October 15 isn't a one-off. It's the first meeting of something ongoing:
🧐Policy conversations — Town halls on what's actually coming, and what it means for a business in this city. Plain English.
👩💻Guided Workshops — hands on keyboards, working on real things.
🚀Done-with-you sessions — bring the thing that's stuck. Leave with it moving.
🤼Build-a-thons — teams, a weekend, something real at the end. And a trophy, because why not.
We're not launching all four at once. We're launching the room. Then you tell us what to build first.
Why here
There's no shortage of AI education in this city. There's a shortage of order — a hundred good lessons and no path through them. The line we hear most: I've been to the workshops and I still don't know where to start.
This chapter is what comes after the class. You try it on your own work, it doesn't behave the way the slides said, and you need somewhere to bring that.
The ground rules
Free, always. No dues, no tiers, no certificate, nobody selling from the front of the room. The AI Collective is a nonprofit and is structurally barred from being a pay-for-play platform. That's not a promise — it's the rules we signed.
October 15 specifically
No panel. No keynote. No slides. (well maybe a couple)
You'll meet the people running this and hear what we're planning. Then we want to hear from you: which of those four do you want first, and what are you stuck on right now?
That's the real agenda. The 2027 calendar gets built out of what people say in that room.
You don't need to be technical. You don't need a project. You don't need to know what any of this means yet. Come with a question, or come with nothing.

A note on space
The room holds about 80. If we fill up, you'll land on the waitlist and we'll let you know the moment a spot opens — that happens more than you'd think.
And if you RSVP but your plans change, please cancel. It takes ten seconds and it hands your seat to someone who wants it. That's the whole system.
