New Haven Hack for Humanity
Our chapter is joining Hack for Humanity, The AI Collective's global initiative running Fall 2026. It's the continuation of the Humans in AI Week conversations we held this summer, where we identified real problems in our local community... and now is our chance to build the solutions.
On October 16th, we're putting a room full of builders in front of them for one afternoon.
This isn't a coding contest for developers only. We need product people, market researchers, presenters, data folks, and coders too. You'll get matched to a team based on what you're actually good at, or bring your own crew if you've already got one.
What happens
Before the event, you'll get data sets and problem briefs so your team can align on direction ahead of time. On the day: opening remarks and a breakdown of the topics, a focused hacking window with mentors and volunteers on hand, then a presentation session where every team shows what they built.
Who should come
The focus here is exactly what the name says. Every problem statement and every project should solve something local to your community, with the purpose of benefiting humanity.
All types of builders are welcome at this event. The winners of this event may be asked to showcase their products within our global newsletter with 300k+ subscribers!
