AI in Education: Critical Thinking, Skills & the Human Layer

📅 March 31, 2026
📍 AGH University, Kraków
📝 Registration required

This event will be held fully in Polish 🇵🇱

About the Event

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly reshaping education and the broader learning ecosystem – not only through new tools, but by challenging how we build skills, evaluate learning, and define the role of humans in the process.

This edition of the The AI Collective Poland: AI in Education in collaboration with AGH University explores one of the most important questions in today’s education landscape: are our institutions, educators, and learners truly ready for the AI era?

Together with researchers, practitioners, and education innovators, we will look at AI from two complementary angles. First, we will examine how the Polish learning and training sector is responding to technological change, what the latest market data tells us, and why the transformation is still uneven. Then, we will move into the classroom itself – asking how schools and universities can strengthen critical thinking, cognitive resilience, and independent reasoning in a world increasingly shaped by algorithms.

The evening will culminate in a panel discussion on a provocative but timely topic: why has the training market still not fully become EdTech? We’ll explore what is slowing down adoption, whether AI threatens traditional training models, where LLMs can realistically replace parts of teaching, and where the uniquely human value in education remains irreplaceable.

Join us for an evening of insightful keynotes, practical reflection, and honest debate – followed by networking with educators, founders, researchers, and professionals building the future of learning in Poland.

This event will be held fully in Polish 🇵🇱

📅 Agenda

17:30 – Registration 📝👋
Arrival & check-in

18:00 – Opening Remarks 🎤 (Polish 🇵🇱)
Welcome by the AI Collective Poland team & AGH University

18:10 – Keynote – Barbara Worek 🎓🤖 (Polish 🇵🇱)
“Is the Polish skills development sector ready for the AI era?”

A data-driven look at how the Polish training and lifelong learning sector is responding to AI-driven change. This talk will highlight key research findings on innovation, market fragmentation, challenges related to AI adoption, and what these shifts mean in practice for companies, trainers, and institutions responsible for developing future-ready skills.

18:40 – Keynote – Paulina Krukowska 🧠📚 (Polish 🇵🇱)
“Cognitive Resilience in a World of Algorithms”

How can we teach young people to use AI without handing over their thinking to machines? Paulina will explore how to strengthen critical thinking, cognitive resilience, and intellectual independence in the era of generative AI - especially in secondary schools and higher education - so that AI becomes a partner in thinking, not a shortcut that replaces it.

19:10 – Panel Discussion (organised by EdTech Dots) 🗣️ (Polish 🇵🇱)
“Why hasn’t the training market become EdTech yet?”

Signals from the market suggest that a large part of the training sector still operates in a largely analog model. In this discussion, we will explore why technology adoption remains slow, whether AI could threaten traditional training companies, what LLMs can realistically automate, and where the truly irreplaceable human value in education lies today.
